Report: Patrick Mahomes avoids ‘significant additional damage’ to knee injury, MRI confirms

The Kansas City Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes got the best possible news when an MRI showed he avoided additional damage to his knee.

Ian Rapoport and James Palmer of NFL Media report the MRI showed no “significant additional damage” other than the dislocated kneecap, which was known Thursday night.

This news likely means Mahomes will miss roughly three weeks, which was the initial diagnosis pending any additional damage.

If this timeline holds up, then the 2018 NFL MVP could be back in time for Kansas City’s game against the Tennessee Titans on Nov. 10.
