Report: Patrick Corbin to visit with the Yankees on Thursday

The New York Yankees might not be done adding top-end starting pitchers to their staff. Fresh off acquiring James Paxton from the Seattle Mariners, New York is set to host fellow ace Patrick Corbin on Thursday.

A native of New York, Corbin grew up rooting for the pinstripes. This should give the Yankees an advantage in the chase for one of the winter’s top free agents.

Corbin, 29, pitched to an 11-7 record with a 3.15 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 33 starts last season. He also struck out a resounding 246 batters in 200 innings.

Having taken a visit with the Philadelphia Phillies earlier this week, Corbin is already a hot commodity on the free agent market. Whether his free agency ends in New York remains to be seen. But we’d bet on it.
