The Green Bay Packers’ coaching shake up is now about to come to a culmination. Reports surfaced earlier in the week that the team will name former Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine as its new defensive coordinator.

In looking to continue adding experience to his staff, head coach Mike McCarthy has now apparently settled on former Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin to be his new offensive coordinator.

Philbin spent the past two seasons as the Indianapolis Colts’ assistant head coach and offensive line coach. Prior to that, he led the Dolphins to a 24-28 record in parts of four seasons, from 2012 through the first four games of the 2015 season.

A veteran coach of 15 NFL seasons, Philbin spent his first nine years in the NFL as an assistant for the Packers. That included a stint as offensive coordinator from 2007-2011 before he landed the Dolphins’ job.
