Fresh off the reported Chris Davis signing, a seven-year deal worth $161 million, the Baltimore Orioles could still be in the market for another big bat in Yoenis Cespedes.
During the time in which Davis and the Orioles backed away from the negotiating table, the team’s interest turned to Cespedes.
And, while most would assume Davis’ signing would rule out another big-time deal, the team is still reportedly considering a deal with the outfielder, if he’s willing to sign a short-term contract.
With Davis now in the fold, it appears that the #Orioles would now only consider signing Cespedes for a deal of two years or less.

Landing both Davis and Cespedes would be a tremendous haul for Baltimore, but one has to imagine other teams will be charging hard for the free agent outfielder, now that the Orioles have spent so heartily on Davis.
Cespedes had a career year in 2015, smacking 35 home runs and 105 RBI between his time with the Detroit Tigers and New York Mets.
He’s set himself up to earn a pretty penny this winter, but it’s not surprising he’s still on the market as teams try to establish what that market is, exactly.
Other teams rumored to be interested in his services, on a short-term deal, are the Mets and Chicago White Sox, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
