As teams across the NBA’s Western Conference prepare for an offseason that could shake up the 2019-’20 season, the Denver Nuggets made their first big move of the offseason on Saturday.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nuggets are exercising All-Star forward Paul Millsap’s $30 million team option.

The 34-year-old played an integral role in Denver’s success last season and fit perfectly alongside All-Star center Nikola Jokic for the Nuggets.

In his second season with the Nuggets, Millsap averaged 12.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game and averaged more than 27 minutes per night.

While there was some speculation that the Nuggets would decline the team option and try to bring Millsap back on a more team-friendly deal, the organization opted to play it safe and keep its core together.
