Report: ‘Not much concern’ over Tom Brady’s back injury

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was held out of the team’s preseason opener against the Washington Redskins Thursday evening with what’s being described as a sore back.

Brady not playing in the preseason isn’t cause for alarm. He only needs a few handful of reps before being ready for Week 1.

Even then, anything suggesting that the five-time world champ is suffering through an injury will open eyes in New England.

Through, there’s good news on this front. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, “there’s not much concern” over Brady’s injury.

It’s unknown whether the 41-year-old quarterback will play next week against the Philadelphia Eagles next week. He should be good to go for the important third preseason game against the Carolina Panthers two weeks from Friday.
