Gardner Minshew Mania is headed back to Jacksonville, as Nick Foles will stay on the bench following his disastrous outing Sunday.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported Monday that head coach Doug Marrone will talk to his quarterbacks soon and that “it will be a surprise if Gardner Minshew doesn’t start on Sunday.”

Shortly afterward, Marrone made the announcement.

From a performance standpoint, the Jaguars have clearly fared better with Minshew under center this year than Foles. The team hasn’t won a single game Foles started, and the high-priced veteran has been turnover prone.

Fans in Jacksonville revolted Sunday as Foles turned the ball over on three consecutive drives and failed to do anything on offense in the first half against Tampa Bay.

Minshew’s last start was his worst. He turned the ball over four times against the Houston Texans on the first Sunday in November and was subsequently benched. However, other than that bad start he’s been phenomenal as a rookie in 2019, passing for 2,432 yards with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions.
