The New England Patriots reportedly kicked the tires on converted quarterback Terrelle Pryor.
The Cleveland Browns ultimately decided to let Pryor go right before the start of the regular season, and the free agent remains unemployed at this time. he was released so the Browns could make room to add former Seattle Seahawks running back Robert Turbin to their final roster.
However, he might get another shot at playing with the Patriots, who reportedly worked the wide receiver out on Monday, according to NFL Media’s Albert Breer. Nothing is eminent at this time, so nobody should go diving for their keyboard to add Pryor to their fantasy football team.
That said, if the Patriots did decide to sign Pryor, he would obviously have a much better shot at succeeding in his new position with Tom Brady serving as his quarterback versus his previous signal-caller, Josh McCown. He would serve as a large-bodied receiver addition who could help the team while Brandon LaFell remains sidelined.
Currently, the Patriots are without such a threat. The team has its jumbo-sized tight end Rob Gronkowski and shifty, shorter receivers like Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola as weapons for Brady.
For the Patriots to entertain the likes of Pryor, who tried his hardest to master his new position over the summer, head coach Bill Belichick must have witnessed something in 6-foot-6, 240-pounder that has caught his eye.
This is something we’ll be keeping our eyes on for the next couple of weeks.
