Mike Leach college football season

Less than one month after he signed an extension at Washington State, Mike Leach is reportedly leaving to coach in the SEC at Mississippi State.

Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports broke the news Thursday.

This news comes just one day after ESPN’s Paul Finebaum shared a report that Leach was in Key West this week for an interview.

It’s a stunning development that will have a big impact nationally.

Leach is known as one of the most innovative offensive minds in college football. However, he’s also known for being gimmicky, which should be put to the test regularly going against SEC defenses.

From 2015-18, Leach led the Cougars to a 37-15 record and hit a high in 2018 with an 11-2 record and an Alamo Bowl victory. This past year, however, Leach’s team went 6-7 and was a major disappointment.

Now, Leach gets a fresh start at a prime gig, while Wazzu has some work to do at a time when the top head coaches have already been taken.
