Report: Michael Porter Jr. cleared for all basketball activities

Two minutes into his freshman season, Michael Porter Jr. suffered a back injury that required surgery and threatened to keep him out all year. On Thursday, the dynamic forward got some tremendous news, however, which is that he’s been fully cleared for all basketball activities.

This is obviously a huge boost for Missouri, which is currently 18-10 and in shape for a NCAA Tournament berth. We already know he has excellent chemistry with his brother, Jontay, and the Tigers need a boost offensively, anyway, currently scoring just 73.9 points per game (180th in the nation).

For Porter on a personal level, this is really awesome news. If he can return, stay healthy and show he’s still one of the top players in the nation, then perhaps he’ll convince NBA scouts he’s worth a high lottery pick this summer.

All in all, this is just a huge win for Missouri and Porter.
