Michael Bennett suspended

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

New England Patriots defensive end Michael Bennett has reportedly been suspended one week for conduct detrimental to the team, per Mike Giardi and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

Rapoport noted Bennett was not at Patriots practice on Tuesday.

Bennett provided his take on why he is suspended.

The veteran defensive end hasn’t played a ton for the Patriots this year, tallying just five tackles and 2.5 sacks all year. It’s clear the Patriots won’t miss much with Bennett out of commission.

The Patriots landed the 33-year-old in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of the 2019 season.
