Report: Marvin Bagley III to ink biggest shoe deal by rookie since Kevin Durant

Marvin Bagley III

It’s safe to say that folks in the advertising industry with ties to the NBA have some huge expectations for Duke product Marvin Bagley III.

According to Jon Krawczynkski of The Athletic, Bagley “is going to sign a five-year deal with Puma that is expected to be the largest rookie shoe deal since Kevin Durant.”

For a frame of reference, Durant inked a seven-year, $60 million deal back in 2007.

Projected to be one of the first (if not the first) players off the board next Thursday when the 2018 NBA Draft kicks off, Bagley brings a well-rounded game that many believe gives him the chance to be the best rookie in the NBA next year.

The 6-foot-11 forward averaged 21 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, along with just under one steal and block per game last year for the Blue Devils.
