Marlins’ Jazz Chisholm Jr. (back) has stress fracture

A CT scan on Miami Marlins second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. revealed a stress fracture in his back, multiple outlets reported Friday.

The injury is expected to sideline the 24-year-old All-Star for approximately six weeks, per the reports.

Chisholm landed on the 10-day injured list on June 29 and was not available to play in Tuesday’s All-Star Game in Los Angeles.

He sustained the injury in a June 28 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. He experienced discomfort in his first at-bat and was removed from the contest.

Chisholm has been the Marlins’ top offensive weapon, leading the team in home runs (14) and RBIs (45). He is batting .254 with 12 steals in 60 games.
