The Orlando Magic remained quiet leading up to the NBA trade deadline last week. It wasn’t for a lack of effort.

According to Sean Deveney of Heavy.com, Orlando tried hard to trade star forward Aaron Gordon with the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves showing the most interest.

Deveney went on to note that Orlando will continue to look for suitable trade partners this summer and was interested in D’Angelo Russell as a restricted free agent last offseason. Hence, the Warriors’ link.

Minnesota and Golden State backed off on interest in Gordon once the two sides came to an agreement that sent Russell to the Wolves for Andrew Wiggins and draft picks.

Gordon, 24, is averaging 13.9 points and 7.3 rebounds on 42% shooting from the field on the season. This comes on the heels of him averaging nearly 17 points and 7.6 rebounds over the past two seasons.
