The Orlando Magic have started rolling after struggling to open the season. Steve Clifford’s squad has won three of its past four games.
Unfortunately, Orlando will be without its top player for at least the next month. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, All-Star center Nikola Vucevic suffered an ankle injury and will be sidelined.
Averaging 17.1 points, 11.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this season, losing Vucevic for a minimum of a month is going to hurt big time.
This likely means that second-year big Mo Bamba will play a larger role for the Magic. The former No. 6 overall pick is averaging just 3.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in 13 minutes of action this season.
It’s now his opportunity to prove that Orlando did not waste a top-10 pick on the 7-foot center.
