Report: Los Angeles Lakers Claim Carlos Boozer

It now appears that Carlos Boozer, who was just recently amnestied by the Chicago Bulls, will be suiting up for the Los Angeles Lakers this upcoming season.

The Lakers had been going after some of the top stars on the open market in free agency, including both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. While not anywhere near their level, Boozer brings a physical inside presence to the team.

ESPN’s Marc Stein follows up with some more information on Boozer to the Lakers.

It remains to be seen exactly what the highest bid was, but Boozer is now on his way to the Lakers.

The big man averaged 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for Chicago last season. Both numbers represented his lowest output since his rookie season back in 2002-2003.
