The Detroit Lions have a chance to land an epic draft haul if they can trade down from No. 3 overall, and apparently that’s on the table.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network shared Thursday that the Lions have “had discussions with teams about moving back in the draft,” and that “teams wanting to move up have been receptive.”
The big reason teams are hankering to move up to the third overall pick is that it’s likely the prime spot to land a quarterback in this year’s draft.
The Cincinnati Bengals are, by all accounts, pretty locked into taking Joe Burrow with the No. 1 overall pick. Then Washington, at No. 2 overall, is widely expected to take Chase Young out of Ohio State.
This leaves Detroit in the driver’s seat to land a huge haul in a trade. Though, the quarterback teams could be looking at in a trade-up scenario may not be the one you think because there are plenty of rumors that Tua Tagovailoa — once the top-ranked quarterback in the class — is being viewed as a huge risk.
