Report: LeSean McCoy may be healthy scratch for Super Bowl LIV

Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

Veteran running back LeSean McCoy missed the AFC title game with an illness and may not suit up for the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, McCoy may be inactive for the Super Bowl, as the Chiefs “would use the spot to add depth on the D-line or another key area.”

Since signing a one-year deal with the Chiefs before the regular season, McCoy hasn’t had the kind of impact he likely hoped to make. During the regular season, he was a healthy scratch on more than one occasion and finished with a career-low 646 yards from scrimmage, along with five touchdowns.
