A new era will soon begin for the Oakland Raiders. As the Raiders prepare for a move to Las Vegas in a couple years, they will also welcome a new voice on the radio.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, legendary broadcaster Brent Musburger has agreed to a three-year deal to become the team’s radio broadcaster.

As part of the move, Musburger will immediately serve as the play-by-play voice for the Raiders’ final two seasons in Oakland. When the Raiders relocate to Las Vegas in 2020, Musburger will follow and serve in the same role.

It’s a major shakeup for an organization that has already experienced a lot of change in recent seasons. Greg Papa, who’s served as Oakland’s play-by-play announcer, has been a well-recognized voice in the Bay Area for well a decade.

For Mark Davis, this is a move with a mindset for football in Las Vegas. While Musburger is popular nationwide, he is a fixture in Las Vegas and immediately gives the team even stronger ties to the city.
