Report: LB Christian Kirksey visiting Packers after leaving Raiders visit without a deal

The Las Vegas Raiders hosted free agent linebacker Christian Kirksey on Wednesday, and now he’s off to visit the Green Bay Packers.

Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Kirksey left the Raiders without a deal and still has other teams interested in his services.

The Packers desperately need to upgrade their linebacker group — especially inside — and Kirksey would fit that bill.

Kirksey missed most of last season with a chest injury, and the Cleveland Browns released him earlier this week. A starter in Cleveland the past six seasons, he’s a very good player when healthy and has racked up 484 tackles, 11.5 sacks, two interceptions and four forced fumbles throughout his career.

Chances are, he’ll likely sign with a team before the start of free agency begins.
