Report: Lakers to sign former No. 2 pick Michael Beasley

The Los Angeles Lakers are doing everything possible to provide LeBron James with a cast of misfits that would make The Sandlot proud.

Fresh off adding the enigmas that are Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee, the Lakers have apparently gone to that well once again.

According to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers have signed veteran forward and former No. 2 overall pick Michael Beasley.

Beasley, 29, will now join his seventh team since entering the NBA as a lottery pick of the Miami Heat back in 2008. He suited up for the New York Knicks last season, averaging 13.2 points an 5.6 rebounds on 51 percent shooting from the field.

Seen by most as a loose cannon, Beasley played a combined 44 games between 2014-16 before making a comeback with the Milwaukee Bucks two years ago.

He’s been on his best behavior since and has turned his career around. Obviously, King James seems to think so, too.
