No, this isn’t a headline from three years ago.

The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly “seriously considering” Metta World Peace, previously known as Ron Artest, for the 2015-16 NBA season.

Adrian Wojnarowski has the scoop (as always), but notes no deal is in place as of yet.

Metta last played for Pallacanestro Cantù of the Italian League, having skipped the 2014-15 NBA season. He played for the New York Knicks the season before that but wasn’t utilized heavily.

The Lakers know what he can do, as he played in Los Angeles from 2009-12. He could be a valuable asset to some of the younger players who need to get toughened up.
