More information is emerging about the bar fight in Latvia that left Dallas Mavericks All-Star forward Kristaps Porzingis bloodied in his hometown of Liepaja, Latvia.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Mavericks are currently investigating the incident. He also notes that the “current understanding is he was jumped at a club, assaulted and hit by objects.”

According to TMZ Sports, the people who reportedly jumped Porzingis were Russian New York Knicks fans who were mad at the NBA star for being traded to the Mavericks.

Video has emerged of what transpired after the reported incident that shows Porzingis bleeding freely from a wound above his eye. He also attempted to go after a group of people outside the camera angle, and he shoved a woman who was trying to hold him back. Thankfully police intervened before things got even more out of hand.

Porzingis was traded from New York to Dallas last year and didn’t play all season as he continued to recover from an ACL injury.
