Arron Afflalo recently opted out of a $7.5 million contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, and the shooting guard will receive a small raise when he joins the New York Knicks.
Per ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Afflalo agreed to a two-year, $16 million contract that contains a player option following the 2015-16 campaign.

Afflalo is set to join his fourth team in three seasons, but the constant change of scenery isn’t a product of poor performance.
He played at an All-Star level with the Orlando Magic in 2013-14, averaging 18.2 points per outing while shooting 42.7 percent from beyond the arc. The Magic then shipped Afflalo to the Denver Nuggets, who sent him to Portland at the 2015 trade deadline.
Although the Trail Blazers intended for Afflalo to occupy the sixth-man role, Wes Matthews’ season-ending Achilles injury forced Afflalo into the starting lineup. He managed 10.6 points on 41.4 percent shooting in a tertiary role behind LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard.
Afflalo will likely contribute as a starter, since the Knicks traded Tim Hardaway Jr. to the Atlanta Hawks for the right to Jerian Grant during a draft-night swap. New York also added Kristaps Porzingis with the No. 4 pick.
