Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore had an excellent first season with the Dallas Cowboys. Now the 31-year-old assistant coach has a decision to make on his coaching future with two options reportedly on the table.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy would like Moore to remain the team’s offensive coordinator. While Moore is considering the offer, he is also weighing a chance to return home and take over the same position for the Washington Huskies.

Moore has experienced a rapid rise through the coaching ranks since he retired as a player following the 2017 season. He served as quarterbacks coach for Dallas in 2018 then became the offensive coordinator this past season.

During the ’19 season under Moore, the Cowboys ranked sixth in the NFL in points (27.1), second in passing yards (296.9) and first in total yards per game (431.5). He demonstrated a brilliant offensive mind and quickly drew major recognition for his work.

An opportunity to return to Dallas as McCarthy’s offensive coordinator could be a great experience with the chance to learn from a Super Bowl-winning coach and compete at the highest level. However, Moore grew up in Washington and a chance to run the Huskies’ offense might be too good to pass on.
