This whole Johnny Manziel thing is getting out of hand. That’s a sentence we could have repeated over and over again in the past two years and still have it mean the same thing.
According to a report from TMZ, Manziel was a passenger in a car involved in a hit-and-run on Saturday night in Hollywood.
The report goes on to say that the former first-round pick fled on foot with the driver, Ryan Silverstein — a member of the hip-hop artist Drake’s entourage.
Adding to the intrigue (and comedy), Manziel was reportedly picked up after fleeing the scene by Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon.
Remember, Gordon and Manziel are said to be living together.
For his part, Gordon’s reinstatement from NFL-mandated suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy was denied earlier this week after he reportedly failed another drug test.
According to the report, the LAPD questioned Manziel about the crash that occurred on the famed Sunset Strip in Los Angeles shortly before 11:00 p.m. PST on Saturday.
Manziel isn’t accused of any criminal wrongdoing here. Neither is Gordon for that matter.
And in reality, the incident is somewhat minor in the grand scheme of things. The car was said to have hit a light pole, missing any pedestrians in the process.
It’s still another story of Manziel putting himself in the wrong place at the wrong time while surrounding himself with the wrong people.
