Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has reportedly been indicted by a Dallas County Grand Jury on misdemeanor assault charges stemming from an incident with his ex-girlfriend earlier this year:

It’s not all bad news for Manziel, who could have easily been charged with a felony for allegedly striking Colleen Crowley in Dallas back in late January.
The former Heisman winner had a restraining order put on him by Crowley following the incident — an incident that allegedly included him threatening her life.
Manziel was released by the Browns just over a month after the incident, and has been in a downward spiral ever since.
He’s lost multiple endorsement deals and has seen two agents relieve themselves of the opportunity to represent him.
With the NFL clearly on the back burner here, Manziel now needs to focus on getting his life together off the field. Whether a potential stint in jail will do that is anyone’s guess.
Formal charges are expected to be filed on Monday.
