Former LSU Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow, who is widely expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, is not expected to throw this week at the NFL Scouting Combine.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, is unlikely to throw in front of NFL teams at the combine. He will meet with reporters on Tuesday, when he could make the announcement official, before meeting with teams throughout the week in meetings.

The decision wouldn’t be surprising given the recent history of similar decisions. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray didn’t throw at the NFL Combine in 2019. Burrow is coming off one of the best seasons in college football history and proved more than enough during his Heisman Trophy campaign this past year.

Furthermore, the Bengals have reportedly already decided to draft Burrow with the No. 1 pick. Cincinnati is prepared to trade Andy Dalton this offseason, making the decision even more likely. Former Ohio State Buckeyes edge rusher Chase Young, who is expected to be the No. 2 overall pick, is also skipping drills at the combine.

While fans might not get to see Burrow throw at the combine, NFL teams will likely come away more than impressed by him in interviews.
