Various reports over the past several weeks have suggested that NFL teams are highly interested in Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh returning to the pros. Up until now, there has not been any indication that Harbaugh himself is looking to leave Ann Arbor.

Now, according to this report from Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman, any talk of Harbaugh heading to the NFL is premature. That information comes from those close to the Wolverines head coach.

The speculation regarding Harbaugh’s status at Michigan isn’t too surprising. Considered an enigmatic personality, each of his past three coaching stops have lasted four seasons. That started San Diego years back before Harbaugh ultimately moved on to Stanford.

After four seasons with the Cardinal, Harbaugh spent four often rocky and successful years with the San Francisco 49ers.

For their part, Michigan has been one of the biggest disappointments in college football this season.

Following a 24-10 loss to Wisconsin on Saturday, Michigan sits at 8-3 and won’t be ranked in this week’s top 25. That could help ramp up reports that Harbaugh might move on. But for now, it appears he’s content coaching at his alma mater
