Report: Jaguars prefer to keep Jalen Ramsey, despite trade request

Despite a very public display of frustration from Jalen Ramsey with the Jacksonville Jaguars, leading to a trade request, the team prefers to keep him.

Mark Long of the Associated Press broke this story on Friday, writing, “The Jags would prefer to keep their star cornerback after several days of trade talks with other NFL teams, according to a person close to the situation. The person spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity Friday because details of trade talks have not been publicly discussed.”

Ramsey requested a trade after the Jaguars lost to the Houston Texans, 13-12, last Sunday. He played for the team on Thursday night and played exceptionally well. So also did rookie Gardner Minshew, who has taken over since Nick Foles suffered a collarbone injury in Week 1.

The Jaguars were reportedly looking for two first-round picks in a trade for Ramsey. This exceedingly high price tag reportedly turned many interested teams away. So in light of those two circumstances it sure seems like the team is intent on not giving its superstar away for pennies on the dollar.
