After announcing his retirement from the NFL late last month, Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Branden Albert has apparently had a change of heart.
ESPN’s Adam Caplan is reporting that Albert will indeed report to Jaguars training camp, thus ending his one-plus week of retirement.
This has to come as a shock to the Jaguars, who were preparing to potentially start rookie second-round pick Cam Robinson at left tackle following Albert’s retirement.
Albert, 32, has earned two trips to the Pro Bowl and remains one of the better pass-protecting left tackles in the NFL. His return to the Jaguars has to be considered a boon for the struggling Blake Bortles and the rest of this team’s talented offense.
