Report: Hue Jackson ‘strong candidate’ to join Herm Edwards’ staff at ASU as offensive coordinator

Herm Edwards made a series of moves to his coaching staff at Arizona State Sunday, and former NFL head coach Hue Jackson could be a beneficiary.

Edwards announced on a conference call with reporters that ASU was firing the bulk of his offensive coaching staff, including offensive coordinator Rob Likens.

Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports shared Sunday night that Jackson “as emerged as a strong candidate” for the offensive coordinator job vacated by Likens.

Jackson, of course, has been an offensive coach and head coach at the NFL level for almost two decades. Before he cut his teeth as a running backs coach for Washington, Jackson has more than a decade of experience coaching college ball as well, going back to his first job at Pacific starting in 1987.

Famous for his failure as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, Jackson actually has a lot to offer a college program in need of a boost.
