Jabari Parker trade

General manager Travis Schlenk and the Atlanta Hawks have been extremely active ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.

That’s included separate deals in which Atlanta has brought in Jeff Teague, Clint Capela and Nene.

Atlanta is not done. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks have traded Jabari Parker and Alex Len to the Sacramento Kings for disgruntled center Dewayne Dedmon and two second-round picks.

Atlanta has been looking for reinforcements inside. Adding Dedmon and Capela to the mix will help in that regard.

Signed to a three-year, $40 million contract this past summer, Dedmon almost immediately regretted said decision and has wanted out of Sacramento for some time. He’s averaging 5.1 points and 4.9 rebounds on the season.

Meanwhile, Parker has missed the past month plus with a shoulder injury. The former No. 2 overall pick is averaging 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds on 50% shooting from the field on the season.
