In the midst of an eight-game losing streak and finding star forward Marc Gasol at odds with head coach David Fizdale, the Memphis Grizzlies had to make a move.
Previous rumors suggested that Gasol might be looking to get out of dodge via a trade. But now, it looks like he could be in Memphis for the long haul.
The team’s front office chose sides on Monday by reportedly firing Fizdale.

This is somewhat of a shocking move, as Fizdale was just in his second season as the Grizzlies’ head coach. It’s most definitely a power move from a general manager in Chris Wallace who has also been under fire recently.
Assistant coach J.B. Bickerstaff will take over in the interim. He served as the interim head coach for the Houston Rockets back in 2015-16.
