First-year New York Giants head coach Joe Judge is adding experience to his staff as the veteran assistant makes his transition from special teams coordinator.

That now reportedly includes New York hiring former Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens to be its tight ends coach.

What a dramatic fall for Kitchens, who was fired after one season as the Browns’ head coach.

At the very least, it gives Judge some more experience on his staff. Kitchens first served in the NFL as the Dallas Cowboys tight end coach in 2006.

Prior to joining Cleveland, he spent 11 seasons as an assistant with the Arizona Cardinals.

Kitchens joins former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett as a big-name hire for Judge’s staff with the Giants.
