DeMarcus Cousins plans to play professionally in Puerto Rico this spring in hopes of making it back to the NBA, ESPN reported Tuesday.

The four-time All-Star center, who turns 33 this summer, split the 2021-22 season with the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets but was out of the league in 2022-23.

The Los Angeles Lakers brought Cousins in for a workout in January, but nothing panned out for the 11-year NBA veteran.

Cousins is joining the Guaynabo Mets of the Puerto Rican Professional Basketball League, according to the report.

The No. 5 overall draft pick by Sacramento in 2010, Cousins has career averages of 19.6 points and 10.2 rebounds in 654 games (561 starts) with the Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Bucks and Nuggets.
