Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was a star on the field and has quickly become a hit in the broadcast booth. Now, he could reportedly have the opportunity to become the highest-paid sportscaster in television history.

According to FrontOfficeSports, ESPN is set to offer Romo a multi-year deal that would pay him between $10-$14 million per year.

The 39-year-old is set to become a free agent this season and talks between Romo and CBS Sports reportedly stalled in August. Now set to become the most coveted free-agent television analyst in years, Romo is set to capitalize with a record-breaking contract.

CBS hired Romo directly out of the NFL in 2017 and he quickly became a hit among football fans. Romo’s mix of personality and knowledge brought life to the broadcast booth. He reportedly makes $4 million per year currently and CBS could match any contract offer he receives.

ESPN appears ready to get into a bidding war for Romo’s services if it’s needed. The network has been planning a significant shakeup for next season’s “Monday Night Football” broadcasting team and Romo could step in as Booger McFarland’s replacement.

After scoring its highest ratings in years, the addition of Romo to the ESPN’s broadcast booth could take “Monday Night Football” to another level.
