Report: Drew Rosenhaus tells Johnny Manziel to get treatment or else

Johnny Manziel

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel pretty much pulled a coup earlier this spring by hiring super agent Drew Rosenhaus.

It seemed to be an odd marriage. Rosenhaus, one of the biggest movers and shakers in the world of professional sports, didn’t necessarily need to take on this reclamation project.

Instead of sticking with the former Heisman winner through what have been some difficult times, it now appears that Rosenhaus has given Manziel an ultimatum.

To go get help, or face the real possibility of being dropped as a client.

Manziel’s off-field issues are by now well-known. The issue with Rosenhuas’ ultimatum is that Johnny Football already spent an extended period of time in rehab last winter.

He returned to the Browns shortly thereafter, only to see himself in the news for all the wrong reasons prior to his release this March.

The most recent story surrounding Manziel involves him being the passenger in a hit-and-run incident in Hollywood over the weekend.

That came after reports that he was living with troubled Browns receiver Josh Gordon, who is still suspended by the NFL after violating the league’s substance abuse policy multiple times.

Whether Rosenhaus’ ultimatum leads to Manziel getting help is not yet known. Though, that seems highly unlikely based on the quarterback’s off-field transgressions in the past.

It’s just another layer to a story that has seen this Texas A&M product go from college star and first-round pick to a laughingstock.
