Before the Myles Garrett-inspired brawl that dominated headlines on Thursday night, Cleveland Browns safety Damarious Randall struck Diontae Johnson with scary a helmet-to-helmet hit that left the Pittsburgh Steelers receiver bleeding from his ear.

At the time, many wondered if Randall would be suspended for his egregious targeting hit. Though he was ejected, he won’t be suspended, per Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram.

Randall should still expect to receive a hefty fine for his helmet-to-helmet hit. He led with his own helmet, lowering his head to hit Johnson, and hit him in the side of Johnson’s helmet as he was a defenseless receiver — the definition of targeting in the NFL.

As for Garrett, he was suspended by the NFL and may not play again this season after receiving an indefinite ban for his actions against Mason Rudolph.
