The New York Jets are currently working on a long-term deal with All-Pro safety Jamal Adams. This comes after a drama-filled 2019 campaign in which rumors of a potential trade came to the surface.

Now that things have died down on that front, most believe the former top-six pick will remain in Jersey for the 2020 season.

Not so fact. According to longtime Cowboys insider Mike Fisher, Dallas is prepared to make another strong play for Adams should he and the Jets fail to come to terms on a long-term deal.

This makes sense on a bunch of different fronts.

After adding to their defense with the likes of Dontari Poe, Gerald McCoy, Aldon Smith and HaHa Clinton-Dix, it would not surprise us too much of Dallas did indeed make a play for Adams.

Whether the Jets would be willing to trade him for a first-round pick raises other questions. We’re not too sure about that possibility right now.
