Andre Drummond trade

It appears the trade market for Detroit Pistons All-Star center Andre Drummond is heating up. After being met with a cold reception from teams in need of an upgrade at center, the Pistons are now receiving a nice amount of interest in Drummond leading up to Thursday’s trade deadline.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst (h/t Rod Beard of The Detroit News), the Los Angeles Clippers have expressed interest in acquiring the big man.

Windhorst specifically mentions Moe Harkless, JaMychal Green and Ivica Zubac as options to head to Detroit in the hypothetical deal. It’s also readily apparent that draft picks would be involved.

Drummond, 26, has the ability to opt out of his contract this coming summer. That complicates things for contending teams interested in his services.

On the court, he’s been absolutely tremendous this season. The former top-10 pick is averaging a career-best 17.5 points to go with 15.8 rebounds. He’s on pace to lead the NBA in rebounds for a third consecutive season.

Boasting a 35-15 record on the season, Los Angeles is in prime position out west. Though, it clearly wants to add a reinforcement in the low-post. Drummond would obviously provide that.
