Report: More ‘chatter’ that Marcus Peters could be traded

Marcus Peters trade

The Kansas City Chiefs could be on the verge of trading star cornerback Marcus Peters. Last week, a report came out that executives around the league were questioning whether Kansas City’s recent moves were a precursor to such a deal, and now another NFL insider is chiming in.

The recent moves that indicate Kansas City could trade Peters involve the Alex Smith trade, which will bring Kendall Fuller over from Washington, and the one-year deal signed by former Oakland Raiders cornerback David Amerson.

Peters has been an outstanding player since being drafted No. 18 overall in 2015. Since then, he’s racked up 19 interceptions and quickly become one of the most feared cover corners in the entire league.

However, some behavioral issues could be wearing the Chiefs down, including the time this past season when Peters threw a penalty flag into the stands. He was suspended one game for his actions and reportedly fought with a coach beforehand.

If the Chiefs do try and move Peters in a trade, they should be able to land some extremely high value for him. He’s just 25 years old and is an elite playmaker, and those are hard to find.
