The Call of Duty League reportedly will field all 12 teams for major tournaments in 2022 after all.

Dot Esports reported Wednesday that the league had a change of heart after originally deciding to go with eight teams in releasing its format last month. Under the original direction, the bottom four teams would be omitted from each major.

The league’s original thinking was that viewership would be low for the ninth to 12th seed matches, per the report. However, the majority of teams still pushed for participation of all 12 teams.

The first of four majors in 2022 will be hosted by OpTic Texas, date to be announced.

The league will also host a preseason Kickoff Classic for all 12 teams from Jan. 21-23, a midseason Pro-Am tournament and an end-of-season Playoffs and Champs event, which will field just eight teams, per the report.
