Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley is expected to miss extended time with a sprained left ankle, The Athletic reported Wednesday.

The injury occurred in the third quarter of a 105-104 home victory over the Boston Celtics Tuesday. After a dunk, Mobley’s left ankle buckled.

In his third season, Mobley has averaged 15.6 points and a career-best 10.2 rebounds in 38 games, all starts. He missed 22 consecutive games earlier this season after a procedure on his left knee.

According to the report, a timetable for Mobley’s return will not be determined until swelling in the ankle subsides.

In 186 career games, all starts, for the Cavaliers in three seasons, the former No. 3 overall draft pick out of Southern California, has averaged 15.6 points and 9.0 rebounds. He was selected to the NBA All-Defensive Team last season.

Cleveland also has been without starters Donovan Mitchell (knee) and Max Strus (knee).
