At long last it, appears the safety market may finally be unfolding. On Wednesday, the Arizona Cardinals agreed to a deal with free agent Tre Boston.
According to ESPN, Boston will join Arizona on a one-year deal after not finding the deal he was looking for during much of the offseason. Now the 26-year-old will reunite with Steve Walks, who served as Boston’s defensive coordinator during their time with the Carolina Panthers.

In an interview with Sirius XM in June, Boston rejected a contract offer previously from Arizona and was still weighing his options a month ago. Now it appears the two sides have reconciled their financial differences and found a deal that brought them together. It’s a landing spot that should allow him to see significant snaps this year.
Last season in Los Angeles, the former fourth-round pick excelled. He set a career-high in total tackles (56), interceptions (five) and pass deflections (eight).
After a career season in 2017, Boston will hope to repeat or even exceed his performance this coming season. If he can do that, perhaps he will land a long-term contract next offseason.
