The Chicago Bulls’ season is starting in disastrous fashion. Nikola Mirotic was hospitalized following an altercation with teammate Bobby Portis on Tuesday.

The details are a bit disturbing.

“Mirotic was taken to the hospital Tuesday after their shoving altercation during practice ended with an alleged cheap shot from Portis to Mirotic’s face, league sources told The Vertical,” Shams Charania of The Vertical reported. “Mirotic is undergoing tests, but is expected to be out for the foreseeable future, league sources said.”

The Bulls aren’t exactly entering the season with high expectations. But two teammates fighting is never good. It’s especially bad when the fight is so severe that one lands in the hospital.

In addition to Mirotic’s injury, expect some form of discipline to come down on Portis (and possibly Mirotic, as well).
