The long downtrodden Chicago Bulls are in the midst of some dramatic changes. Chicago just changed up its front office in a big way, naming Marc Eversley to become its first ever African-American general manager.
That might not be the end of it.
According to former Bulls player and writer for The Athletic Darnell Mayberry, Chicago is set to move on from head coach Jim Boylen.
This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Boylen boasts a 39-84 record since taking over as the Bulls’ head coach back in December of 2018. A change on the bench has been more than in the works, especially given his lackluster relationship with star wing Zach LaVine.
The Bulls have a talented young roster potentially set to compete for a bottom-rung playoff spot moving forward. Getting a fresh mind to mold these youngsters makes a ton of sense.
According to the report, Toronto’s Adrian Griffin and Ime Udoka from the Philadelphia 76ers are top candidates to replace Boylen.
A former assistant general manager with the Sixers, Eversley has a built-in relationship with Udoka.
