Report: Broncos feel Kirk Cousins headed to Vikings

One of the hottest up and coming NFL free agents, Kirk Cousins celebrates during the Redskins-Seahawks game

The Denver Broncos will pursue Kirk Cousins in free agency, but the AFC West franchise might not be feeling great about its chances to land the prized quarterback.

According to Denver-based reporter Benjamin Allbright, “multiple Broncos sources” feel Cousins will eventually choose the Minnesota Vikings.

The report comes just two days after another dispatch explained the New York Jets are worried about the exact same thing. And as they say, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”

Cousins heading to Minnesota would create an intriguing mess early in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft.

Denver and the Jets are positioned at the No. 5 and 6 spots, respectively. Plus, both the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants are expected to snag a quarterback with the top two picks. It’s possible all four teams target a signal-caller if Cousins is elsewhere.

Once he inks a massive contract, we’ll have a clear understanding of quarterback-needy teams. And all signs are pointing to Cousins in Minnesota.
