Report: Braves have talked to Marlins about Christian Yelich

Christian Yelich

After moving the likes of Giancarlo Stanton, Dee Gordon and Marcell Ozuna, the Miami Marlins might not be done with their fire sale.

According to this one report, the Marlins have actually discussed sending star outfielder Christian Yelich to the division-rival Atlanta Braves. Though, talks themselves have not progressed at this point.

If Miami were to move Yelich to a team within the division, it would likely have to be blown away with an offer. For their part, the Braves boast one of the most talent-laden farm systems in all of baseball.

Yelich, 26, is coming off a 2017 campaign that saw him hit .282 with 18 homers and 81 RBI to go with a solid .369 OBP. He’s also a career .290 hitter, having consistently flirted with .300 each season.

Though, at 26 and under team control for the next few seasons, some believe Yelich is a piece the Marlins should feature in what promises to be a lengthy rebuild. It remains to be seen if that will be the case.
