Report: Bills to sign pass rusher Trent Murphy

Trent Murphy is facing a four-game suspension for PEDs

In an attempt to improve a pass rush that saw the team record a grand total of 27 sacks last season, the Buffalo Bills are reportedly taking a chance on former Washington Redskins pass rusher Trent Murphy.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Buffalo will sign Murphy to a three-year, $21 million contract.

Murphy, 27, was a second-round pick of the Redskins back in 2014. He put up a career-best nine-sack performance for the team back in 2017 before injuries and a four-game suspension cost him the entire 2017 campaign.

To be clear: Paying Murphy an average of $7 million per season shows just how desperate the Bills are for a pass rush. Last season saw Jerry Hughes and Shaq Lawson tie for the team lead with just four sacks each.
